MAJOR FUNCTION: The Video/Multimedia Producer is housed within the Office of Communications and Marketing. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the Video/Multimedia Producer will produce video and multimedia content for use on the College website and social media, digital and traditional advertising channels, College events, and more. Responsibilities include content development, project management, and shooting and editing video content.

 

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manages the design and development of video and multimedia projects including  shooting, designing, composing, and editing of internal & external video and multimedia projects.
  • Works jointly with Communications and Marketing staff on marketing and communications initiatives and recruitment support.
  • Directs productions and operates digital cameras and other equipment for remote and studio projects
  • Installs new media software and production equipment. Troubleshoots equipment problems. Maintains equipment and video inventories, performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment as necessary.

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A certificate or A.S. degree in digital media, video production, multimedia design, and at least three years of experience in television, digital media production, or video editing. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience. Preference will be given to candidates with project management experience, and experience creating content for social media. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and After Effects, is required.

 

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Ability to take responsibility for all phases of video and media production. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Familiarity with Flash, Real Media, and QuickTime. Knowledge of broadcast and online video standards, streaming media applications, DVD mastering technologies, storage management, FTP standards, video compression and delivery schemes. Ability to install software applications and update operating systems; install, configure and troubleshoot internal and external computer hardware devices such as video cards, RAID arrays, network attached storage, etc. Ability to develop scripts, storyboards, and production plans for instructional multimedia. Skilled in the operation of digital video cameras, lighting, audio equipment, video switchers, and related production equipment. Ability to work well with faculty, staff, administration, and students. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to identify, gather, transport, and set up equipment for remote field production. Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry equipment weighing as much as 60 pounds. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and manuals. Ability to follow established policies and procedures. Ability to instruct others in the use of complex technical equipment. Ability to answer the telephone. Ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop and reach for extended periods of time. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a rapidly changing technical environment. Ability to perform time-sensitive and complex tasks.
