The anticipated starting beginning salary for candidates expressing interest in this position is $68-$75K.

The Content Producer is responsible for managing the production of multiple projects, concurrently, from preparation of manuscript through finished product. The content producer partners with the project manager to make up the project team for each title. This person sets the book’s schedule with the project manager and managing producer (final manuscript to format completion); hires the project team to electronically produce the project; oversees editing, author review, layout, production, and deadlines; checks quality and corrections throughout the process; posts final project files and communicates technical output information to printer; approves proofs, and makes any necessary corrections. This person learns and uses new technologies as needed, then incorporates them into the production process. They also share their expertise through developing processes to contract with freelancers and preferred vendors.

  • Leader and primary in-house point-person regarding the contracting of project team

  • Manages issues relating to the production of content across their assigned project list

  • Works on print, digital, video, and courseware projects

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of computers and competency in a variety of software. Required: Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, FTP client software, font management software. Helpful: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, SmartSheets, Microsoft Excel

  • General knowledge of electronic prepress production. Required: basic knowledge of creating PDF files, organizing files for the printer, and delivering files electronically

  • Experience in project management

  • The ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects in various stages

  • Organized, efficient, accurate, and detail-oriented

  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to exercise diplomacy

  • General understanding of layout, typography, and design principles
